"Robert Delaunay (French, 1885 - 1941) was a self-taught painter who believed color had its own form of gravity, describing it as "the skin of the world". This work spirals outward like a rainbow set on shuffle,  functioning like a visual engine, powered by rhythm, color, and centrifugal force. Delaunay co-founded Orphism, a movement so abstract and lyrical it was named after a mythical poet - because Cubism just wasn’t vibey enough."
