The Blurb
Women’s Graphics Collective (American, founded 1970) emerged in Chicago as part of a feminist surge that used anonymous art as direct action. Their silkscreens fused activism with accessible design, making the poster inseparable from political participation. Low-cost, easily reproducible, and visually unforgettable, these works turned collective authorship and modernist tropes into tools that disrupted both patriarchal narratives and art-world hierarchies.
