The Curatorial Note (inside front cover)
"Paul Klee (Swiss-German, 1879 - 1940) moved between Expressionism, Surrealism, and Bauhaus modernism, fusing abstraction with poetic symbolism. He often spoke of art as a kind of visual music; insisting art came from “places not yet explored”. He worked like a scientist of imagination, building color charts as elaborate as military maps. Here, aquatic forms, flowers, and celestial bodies drift across a velvety darkness, embodying his belief that art should make the invisible visible; Part night sky, part chalkboard, part enchanted pond, and humming with symbols - where sound, symbol, and spirit converge."
