"Wassily Kandinsky (Russian, 1866–1944) abandoned a career in law to become one of modernism’s boldest theorists, shaping abstraction at the Bauhaus and beyond. Synesthetic by nature, he heard colors as tones, felt emotion and spirit in shape, and saw form as harmony. Circles held particular significance as vessels of balance and infinity. One can see them here, floating in layered color against a void, charting a universe of order and vibration, offering not astronomy but a spiritual cartography of the unseen."
